Super DMX Shield Rev 1B Fixes

Welcome to the Super DMX Shield Rev 1B fixes page!

Why does it need fixes at all? During development, it dawned on me that it shouldn't be too difficult to add DMX receiving capabilities to the Arduino with this board. SO: In anticipation of having time to add that feature, a couple of extra bits were added. It is important to disable those bits while I figure out how to make it even more useful.

The Fixes:

This is what the board will look like with some of the components on it.

1 is a simple wire link between the 2 solder pads.

2 is a small slice just next to the RX pin. You'll see a wire in the PCB that is connecting the RX pin to another location somewhere to the left. You need to permanently disable that by slicing the wire. You can use a blade to carefully disable that bus.

This is the bottom of the board.

3 is a simple wire link between the 2 solder pads. Note that one of the pads is connected to the 8 pin DIL socket.

4 is a link between two of the pins on the 8 pin DIL socket.

NOTE There is a 1k resistor on the bottom side of the PCB. (It is marked on the top, but needs to be soldered to the bottom.)
